Who we are

Saolix Technologies is a vertical of Saolix Group Limited ("Saolix", "we"), a company registered in Kenya with its head office in Westlands, Nairobi. Saolix Group Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at info@saolix.com.

What we collect

Apart from analytics data, described below, we collect only what you choose to send us. If you complete the enquiry form, that is your name, work email address, company, what you are interested in, and your message. You may also provide a phone number. If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect standard analytics data through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, including pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.

Why we use it

Enquiry details are used solely to respond to you and, where relevant, to route your enquiry to the appropriate team within Saolix Group. Analytics data is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal basis

We process enquiry data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. Analytics is processed only with your consent, which you give or refuse in the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent to be contacted at any time by emailing info@saolix.com; withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it.

How the form works

When you submit the enquiry form, your details, consent and submission time are transmitted to the group's enquiry backend hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), which sends them to info@saolix.com using Amazon Simple Email Service. If that service cannot be reached, the form instead opens your own email application with the same details filled in, and nothing is sent until you choose to send it. We do not store form submissions in a separate website database; enquiry correspondence is retained in our business email systems.

Sharing

We share personal data only within Saolix Group where necessary to answer your enquiry, and with service providers who operate infrastructure on our behalf: Amazon Web Services for website hosting, enquiry processing and email delivery, and Google for analytics. Those providers process data under their own terms. We may disclose data where required by law.

Retention

Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any resulting relationship, and thereafter for up to twenty-four months unless a longer period is required by law. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings configured in Google Analytics.

Where data is held

Personal data from this website is processed outside Kenya: enquiry form submissions are processed by Amazon Web Services in India (Mumbai region) and analytics data by Google, each of which may store data outside Kenya; correspondence is held on business email systems that may also store data outside Kenya. We rely on these providers' contractual and security safeguards for these transfers. Where our products are deployed for a customer, customer data remains within the customer's own infrastructure and jurisdiction; see Trust.

Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be informed of the use of your data, to access it, to object to its processing, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request deletion, and to receive your data in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email info@saolix.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

Cookies

With your consent, this site uses cookies set by Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for measurement. They are not set unless you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, you can also delete existing cookies through your browser settings. The site works fully without them. The site sets no other cookies; fonts are served from this site, so no font provider sees your visit.

Roles at Saolix are advertised on the group site. The notice for applicants is in the group's privacy policy.

We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the current version.
